It was Year 4’s turn to visit St Andrew’s Church today! ⛪️
We had a fantastic time creating historical timelines, exploring the church for fascinating artefacts, and listening to a captivating Northumberland legend.
But the clear favourite? Trying on helmets and handling weapons from times gone by – a hands-on history experience they won’t forget! ⚔️🛡️
A huge thank you to Steve Tarling from the Churches Conservation Trust for bringing history to life in such an exciting way! ... See MoreSee Less

They took part in some amazing art and super science lessons – a real treat for curious minds! 🎨🧪
The highlight for many was getting hands-on in the science lab, where they absolutely loved trying out experiments and exploring like real scientists.

Year 3 had an amazing morning at St Andrew’s church in Bywell, built in 850AD. We looked at a local timeline all the way from Hadrians wall being built to now, which included The Battle of Hexham, Anne Armstrong, a girl from Stocksfield, who accused her neighbour of turning her into a witch, Grace Darling, George Stephenson and his steam train and more amazing medieval history from Northumberland.
We learnt all about old gravestones from 100 of years ago and how people didn’t know how to write then so they used different symbols to show who was buried there and what they did.
Then we were able to look and try some medieval armour and weapons!
We finished off our morning with an old folk tale from Northumberland called ‘Child Rowland’.
Thank you so much to Steve and The Church Conservation Trust! ... See MoreSee Less

A huge thank you to all the pupils who joined us on the residential — you were amazing from start to finish! 🌟
We’re incredibly proud of each and every one of you for embracing the challenges, stepping out of your comfort zones, and making it such a memorable trip.
And an extra special thank you to our fantastic staff for giving up their time, energy, and probably a bit of sleep to make it all possible. Miss Richardson your hot chocolate is legendary, Miss Davidson we could not have managed without you hair salon and Mrs Tucker your organisational skills kept us on time for every activity.
