A Nurturing Start with Stocksfield Explorers
At Stocksfield Explorers, we believe that the earliest years are the foundation for a lifetime of
curiosity, confidence, and connection. As part of the Broomley First School community, we offer families a truly special start that blends outdoor adventure with educational warmth and a sense of belonging.
Our Forest School Nursery, for children aged 0–4, gives children the freedom to learn and grow through play in the great outdoors at whatever pace is best for them. Whatever the weather, children spend much of their day immersed in nature building, discovering, and developing independence. Indoors, our calm and nurturing spaces reflect the same values: child-led learning, imagination, and care.
Our approach is guided by attachment theory, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and understood. Strong, trusting relationships between staff and children are at the heart of everything we do. Led by qualified teachers and Early Years specialists, our team supports each child to explore their interests, develop resilience, and meet the expectations of the Early Years curriculum in ways that are meaningful and joyful.
Because Stocksfield Explorers is part of Broomley First School, our children benefit from being part of a wider learning community. They enjoy a smooth transition into school life, surrounded by familiar faces and consistent values that promote kindness, curiosity, and respect.
We’re open 50 weeks a year, from 7:30am to 5:30pm, offering flexible wraparound care to suit your family’s needs. We accept government funding, childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare.
