Art at Broomley 

We believe learning within art stimulates creativity and imagination. It provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and a special way of understanding and responding to the world. Our high-quality art education aims to inspire, engage and challenge children. The intent of our art curriculum at Broomley is to ensure pupils are equipped to successfully think, work and communicate like an artist. Our intention is that, with exceptional teacher instruction, pupils will be inspired to acquire knowledge, experience and skill to enable them to attempt and apply their understanding in a range of art forms. Students will experience a wide range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, 3D and collage. Progression in each discipline is deliberately woven into the fabric of the curriculum so that pupils can revisit key disciplines throughout their Primary journey at increasing degrees of challenge and complexity. Our children will be able to evaluate and analyse creative works using the vocabulary of art, craft and design as explicit vocabulary is taught throughout.
